The Oantone Institute has announced the colour of the year 2013: Emerald Green
While green symbolises nature, freshness, inexperience and hope, this
jewel toned green is characterised as sophisticated, lively and radiant.

Während Grün Natur, Frische, Unerfahrenheit und Hoffnung verkörpert, steht dieses brilliante Grün für mondän, lebendig und strahlend.
Designer Tracy Reese (even First Lady Mrs O. is a fan of her dresses) says about the colour choice:

Your daughter is beautiful! The color looks great on her too. I'm on the fence on emerald green, though I don't know why because I really like green in general. I have a bright kelly green jacket that looks like it might pass as emerald, but I don't know if I'm going to invest in the color or not. I guess it depends on what I find!

Unless I am very sure on a strong colour like Emerald I would probably just get a couple of accessories.

I am so disappointed.. I love green, bottle green, dark green, lime green. It is such a good colour for me. But it was never a fashion colour, therefore, never in the shops.
Now green IS a fashion colour and it is emerald. Which has too much blue in it to be flattering for me. Such a shame.
Fortunately for your daughter it is a good colour. She looks great.
I know what you mean. The cold hint of blue in it doesn't suit every woman. But I think it is great that you already discovered _your_ personal tone of green! And you should go for it.
