WHITE CASUAL WEEKEND LOOK IN SNEAKERS

SUMMER WHITE

My version of a casual weekend look

I love a feminine style, dresses and elegant shoes but sometimes all I need is a comfortable, casual look, especially for the weekend. Since the weather finally seems to make some progress towards a real summer, I chose an all-white look with my new sneakers from Zara. I was looking for a pair which aren't too sporty - without logos and brand symbols, bright colours or neon, but more versatile and slightly more "dressy". These are so comfortable, I love the platform and they go perfectly well with my personal style.

WIDE LEG LINEN TROUSERS DRESSED UP

WIDE LEG TROUSERS DRESSED UP

Wearing linen for going out

Linen, white and summer go together perfectly well. Think of long beach tunics, shirts or maxi dresses paired with ethnic accessories and leather sandals. This light natural fabric allows a comfortable air-flow and doesn't cling to your skin in hot summer weather. It is widely accepted that linen creases and still it looks super stylish - just think of Italian men looking very relaxed yet sophisticated in their light summer trousers and shirts in the cities!

CASUAL WEEKEND LOOK: WHITE BOHO LACE BLOUSE

CASUAL WEEKEND LOOK IN A BOHO BLOUSE

Giving laces a contemporary touch

On Fridays I leave the office early and love this extension to my weekends! First of course there is some grocery shopping as well as all the little errands... as always, I buy fresh flowers and went to the garden centre next town as I also needed some more plants for my terrace.

I wore my new lace blouse from Zara paired with cropped trousers and super comfy slippers. The boho style is one of the major trends this season and I am happy I found this light ivory coloured blouse which is also a perfect match with my flared jeans (seen here).

CLASSIC STYLE NAVY BLUE SHIFT DRESS

MY OLD NAVY BLUE SHIFT DRESS

... even fashion bloggers can't buy new clothes for every post!

Everything I am wearing today has been in my wardrobe for quite some time. Although I love shopping, I am not craving for the latest must-have piece. Usually I am a bit hesitant towards new trends anyway and talked about it in my last post. Pairing existing clothes with a new purchase is always nice and feeling good and comfortable in my personal style is most important.

HOW TO WEAR CULOTTES OVER 50 - TREND 2015

HOW TO WEAR THE TREND: CULOTTES

Culottes? No, never ever I will wear them! Ridiculous... they are not flattering at all and I remember them from the 80s and early 90s ... I'll definitely skip that trend!

Sounds familiar?
Ok, that's what I said when I noticed the first culottes last year. Never gave them a second thought until I saw this red statement piece which Zara actually describes as a "sarong skirt". I just found the exact same ones for half of the price (!) in red and black on Oasap here! For me a sarong is a large piece of cloth wrapped around the hips, worn as a skirt in many Asian countries and I have seen them during my travels, especially in Indonesia. Our western version are pareos which are perfect for beach holidays. When you google for them, also try "gaucho pants", they really do go by different names! Anyhow - my new favourite red piece looks like a skirt from the front and trousers from the back and is the perfect compromise: elegant - trendy - comfortable.
