ISABI: MOTHER & DAUGHTER JEANS STYLINGS

ISABI JEANS & SHRUG

My favourite bootcut jeans are back! When I showed them on the blog for the first time here, I already mentioned how comfortable they are and I really do love them!

Now ISABI sent me this beautiful pink draped shrug with butterfly sleeves to complete my look. The mercerised viscose gives it a satin touch and feels awesome on my skin. It is an ideal cover for summer evenings and is also available in Burgundy, Silvergrey and Moss Green. I can't wait to show you how I wear it with this fabulous fitted dress from ISABI soon.

While Lucas already had to go back to his university in Bayreuth, I am happy to have Alena here with me during her term break before she will return to London right after Easter.

Numerous times I said that we share our closets. This brought up the idea for a "Mother & Daughter" post on our blogs. But we even went one step further and invited our lovely US friends Kim and her daughter Chloe over at popcosmo for a joint post. Alena and I were so happy when they instantly agreed!

ISABI JEANS & SHRUG

Meine Lieblingsjeans habe ich Euch vor einiger Zeit hier vorgestellt. Der Schnitt und das Stretchmaterial sind unheimlich bequem und ich trage sie wirklich gern.

Nun hat mir ISABI diesen tollen roséfarbenen Cardigan mit Fledermausärmeln geschickt, der super dazu passt. Es ist ein seidig schimmerndes Viscosematerial und fühlt sich so angenehm auf der Haut an. Ich mag diese Art von Jacken einfach gerne und sie passen natürlich nicht nur zu Jeans. Wie ich die Jacke, die es auch in Bordeaux, Silbergrau und Khakigrün gibt, mit diesem engen Kleid von ISABI kombiniere, zeige ich Euch demnächst!

Egal in welchem Alter, es gibt nichts nichts schöneres, als meine Kinder um mich zu haben! Lucas' Semester hat in Bayreuth schon wieder begonnen, Alena ist noch bis Ostern hier, bevor sie zurück nach London fliegt.

Ich erzähle ja immer wieder, dass wir regelmäßig Kleidung tauschen und so ist die Idee für einen gemeinsamen "Mutter & Tochter" post entstanden. Dazu haben wir unsere amerikanischen Bloggerfreundinnen Kim und ihre Tochter Chloe von popcosmo eingeladen und uns wahnsinnig gefreut, dass sie unsere Idee begeistert angenommen haben!

Kim and Chloe bloggen zusammen auf ihrem tollen Lifestyle Blog über klasse Outfits, unglaublich hilfreiche Tips zum Thema Blogging, Photographie und Social Media (unbedingt lesen!), aber auch Beauty und Selbstgemachtes gehören dazu (wenn ich auf dem Gebiet nur keine zwei linken Hände und vor allem mehr Geduld hätte...)

This black jumpsuit from Mango {similar here and here} made its first appearance on the blog here when Mr C and I spent a lovely weekend in Northern Italy last year. I couldn't wait to get it out again when I rearranged my spring/summer wardrobe last weekend.

It is such a versatile piece and can easily be styled in different ways: elegant in all black, colourful or even casual with a denim jacket - I will show you a different styling next week.

TRACK PANTS ETHNIC STYLE

Last week we were surprised by a sudden snowfall of 15" within 24hrs! That has been the biggest amount we have had all winter but luckily the ground wasn't frozen, temperatures immediately increased and almost as fast as it came, it melted. This weekend we were back to fabulous spring weather with 20C and bright sunshine.

My look is casual: Ethnic printed track pants (love these and these), layering top and a waterfall cardigan from Wallis. I have worn this black silky top which adea sent me in autumn numerous times this winter and for sure it will be part of my wardrobe all year round!

My daughter is still here until Easter and I took the opportunity and shopped her closet for this look, see her version here.

Thank you so much for all your kind comments on my last post, Facebook and Instagram about my time in Hamburg modelling for Thomas Rath and QVC! It has been a fantastic and rewarding experience.

TRACK PANTS IM ETHNO STIL

Nachdem wir den ganzen Winter so gut wie keinen Schnee hatten, wurden wir letzte Woche plötzlich von 40cm innerhalb von 24 Stunden überrascht! Zum Glück sind die Temperaturen anschließend gleich wieder gestiegen, sodass dieses Wochenende nichts mehr davon zu sehen war.

Es war sehr ungewohnt, am Montag mit Daunenmantel und Winterstiefeln ins Büro zu gehen, aber als wir diese Fotos gemacht haben, waren Straßen und Wege längst wieder frei. Ich hatte mich für eine lässige, bedruckte Hose (auch super: hier und hier), Top und Jacke im Lagenlook entschieden. Alles Ton-in-Ton schwarz-beige und meinen Schmuck habe ich passend zum Ethnomuster der Hose ausgesucht.

Meine Tochter hat noch bis Ostern Semesterferien und daher konnte ich die Hose von ihr ausleihen, was wir ja sehr oft gegenseitig machen. Wie Alena diese Hose gestylt hat, könnt Ihr hier sehen.

Ich danke Euch für die vielen Kommentare zu meinem ersten Laufstegabenteuer bei Thomas Rath für QVC in Hamburg! Es war ein ganz besonders schönes Erlebnis. Aktuell gibt es über den Event einen wirklich lesenswerten Artikel bei meiner Bloggerfreundin Susanne von Texterella.

MODELLING FOR THOM BY THOMAS RATH FOR QVC

THOM by Thomas Rath for QVC

Thomas Rath star-designer, stylist, TV host and judge for "Germany's Next Top Model" is known for his feminine and glamorous yet wearable designs for style-confident women. He worked with brands like Windsor, Jil Sander, Mulberry or Escada, styled international stars and models and eventually founded his own label Thomas Rath semi-couture.

Exclusively for QVC the leading video and ecommerce retailer he designed his collection THOM by Thomas Rath which will be available from 15 May.

The presentation of this collection took place in Hamburg last week. It has truly been an honour for me to model these outfits on the catwalk together with Cla of glam up your lifestyle. Our blogger friend Conny of A Hemad und a Hos accompanied us and was very busy capturing the best moments on camera. I am most grateful for her support!

We had such an exciting and busy day with an intensive catwalk training with our professional and incredibly nice coach Sonja who taught us how to walk, pose and study our part in the choreography. A fabulous woman with an encouraging attitude who supported us and put a smile on our faces the whole day!

Fitting, makeup and hairstyling, almost no chance for a bite to eat (although the buffet was really tempting!) and a lot of rehearsals until the show finally started. We had a wonderful time with professional models, stylists and customers and there was so much to learn from each other behind and on stage.

I cannot thank everybody enough who made this amazing day and experience happen!

Wer kennt Star-Designer, Stylist, Moderator und "Germany's Next Top Model" Juror Thomas Rath nicht?

Mit seiner wunderbaren, femininen Kollektion Thomas Rath semi-couture setzt er auf selbstbewußte Frauen und eine aktuelle forsa-Umfrage im Auftrag von QVC bestätigt: Frauen ab 40, die ihren persönlichen Modestil gefunden haben, bekommen weitaus mehr Komplimente als Frauen, die modisch noch experimentieren und jeden Trend mitmachen!

Nun entwirft Thomas Rath exclusiv für QVC, führend auf dem deutschen Teleshopping-Markt und als Multimedia-Versandhändler, die sportive Linie THOM by Thomas Rath für stilbewusste Frauen. Auch sehr schicke Kleider sind darunter und ich habe bereits eines für mich entdeckt - jetzt kenne ich sie ja in natura und weiß, wie toll sie aussehen und sitzen :-) Die Kollektion wird ab 15. Mai erhältlich sein.

Präsentiert wurde die neue Kollektion THOM vergangene Woche in Hamburg und da sie eben nicht für 20-jährige Kundinnen mit Größe XS designed wurde, hatte ich die Ehre, Looks daraus auf dem Catwalk zusammen mit meiner Bloggerkollegin Cla von glam up your lifestyle, sowie 40+ Profimodels und QVC Kundinnen vorstellen zu dürfen! Außerdem hat uns unsere Bloggerfreundin Conny von A Hemad und a Hos begleitet und unermüdlich Fotos geschossen. Dafür kann ich ihr gar nicht genug dankbar sein! Wie schön auch, vor Ort Susanne von Texterella wiederzusehen, mit der ich vor 17 Jahren zusammen das Thema "Networking" in der digitalen Welt quasi gelernt habe und seither aktiv praktiziere - auch hier auf dem Blog!

Unser Tag war bis zur Show ausgefüllt: Ein intensives Training mit unserer professionellen und supernetten Catwalktrainerin Sonja, die uns die richtige Körperhaltung, Bewegung und Posings beibrachte, aber auch verstand, uns immer wieder ein (echtes!) Strahlen auf's Gesicht zu zaubern. Dazwischen Anprobe, Make-up und Hairstyling, zurechtzupfen und abpudern, kaum Gelegenheit, einen Happen vom frischen Buffet zu genießen, aber dafür immer wieder Aufstellung und Probedurchgänge, bis es endlich soweit war!

Besonders erwähnenswert: Keine Zickerei, kein Gejammere (nun gut, manche Füße...!), sondern eine tolle Stimmung, gegenseitige Unterstützung und intensiver Austausch zwischen Models, Bloggerinnen, Redakteurinnen, Stylistinnen und Kundinnen im Fitting Room und auf dem Laufsteg.

Ein ganz herzlicher Dank geht an alle, die diesen besonderen Tag ermöglicht haben!

Thomas Rath hat sich mir übrigens als extrem herzlicher, angenehmer Mensch dargestellt, der es mir leicht machte, meine Nervosität in den Griff zu bekommen. Ein äußerst menschlicher Profi in der Szene, was auch von allen Seiten bestätigt wurde.

I was so pleased by the outfits chosen for me by Thomas Rath. As you know I love an elegant style and even when I wear trousers or jeans I prefer dressing them up a bit. The incredibly soft, black ultrasuede cardigan, paired with the sequined top of my first look as well as the classy Chanel type jacket of my second look are exactly my style!

SPRING GREEN KNIT DRESS

SPRING GREEN

I had the most incredible time in Hamburg modeling for German Designer Thomas Rath and his new collection THOM for QVC. Find some previews photos here - the full post will be online this week.

Another spring colour on the blog today! I while ago I showed you my blue knit dress here and since I was so impressed with its comfortable, soft fabric, I ordered another one from the same brand, now with short sleeves. Unfortunately, the fine vale turned out to be a strange neon green which I thought was far too bright and didn't match with the light green of the dress. Another job for my skilled seamstress who replaced it by this new spring green one.

When I like a piece and it fits me well, I tend to buy it in different colours. This goes for my green ZARA wedges too which I also have in orange.

My daughter shakes her head about my habit and perfers unique items... what about you? Have you ever bought your favourite piece in different colours?

FRÜHLINGSGRÜN

Die Gelegenheit diese Woche für Designer Thomas Rath und seine neue Kollektion THOM für QVC in Hamburg zu modeln war ein unglaubliches Erlebnis! Vorab gibt es hier ein paar Fotos - der ganze Post zum Thema folgt in den nächsten Tagen.

Weiter geht es mit einer Frühlingsfarbe! Vor längerer Zeit habe ich Euch mein blaues Strickkleid hier vorgestellt und mag das feine, weiche Material unglaublich gern, sodass ich ein ähnliches Modell mit kurzen Ärmeln in Grün bestellt habe. Einzig enttäuscht war ich von der Farbe des angenähten Schals in einem Neongrün, das viel zu grell war und überhaupt nicht zum zarten Grün des Kleids passte. Aber meine Schneiderin hat ihn einfach ausgetauscht und der neue Schal bleibt nun im gleichen Farbschema, ist nur etwas dunkler und passt jetzt bestens dazu!

Wenn ich ein Kleidungsstück gerne mag und es super passt, kaufe ich es auch mal in mehreren Farben. Das gilt auch für meine ZARA Wedges, die ich auch noch in orange habe.

Meine Tochter kann das gar nicht verstehen und mag lieber Einzelteile... was meint Ihr? Kauft Ihr Eure Lieblingsteile auch mal in verschiedenen Farben?
