LACE AND LEATHER

I bought this dress earlier in summer but then wasn’t quite sure how and when I could wear it. The lining and 3/4 sleeves aren’t suitable for very warm summer temperatures. On the other hand it doesn’t feel quite right for the cold season either.
Usually we have nice and sunny weather in September and October, albeit nights are pretty chilly.  Paired with leather accessories and my floral bag I felt comfortable for this period of transition. My belt from a small boutique in Tuscany, Italy is more than 20 years old!

This morning I got up very early and took my daughter Alena to Munich airport. A new and exciting chapter in her life as she left for university and will study at London College of Fashion.
I couldn’t be happier for her but of course I feel very sad today…

Congratulations to your beautiful daughter and best of luck at the London College of Fashion. The dress is lovely and I am crazy about the belt. They always say to hold on to belts even if they temporarily go out of style because they are often unique accessories and can add so much to an outfit.

Wow absolutely gorgeous look Annette! The dress is so pretty and you paired it with perfect accessories! The delicate necklace and statement belt are just perfect for this cute dress! 🙂

    I love it 😀

Lovely dress Annette, and the belt is very special. I know exactly how you feel about your daughter, in one hand feeling proud for her adult and responsible achievement while on the other hurting for not having her near by .
My son has taken, 4 month ago, a very senior job in a bank in Johannesburg , South Africa. While been proud of him (he just bought his own car and rented an apartment) I miss his love and wisdom and his smile around the dinner table. But this is parenting, I say to my self, we raise them and let them spread their wings and fly out the nest… My thoughts are with you. Sara

    Gruess gutt Annette …
I'm thinking of you as today as you adjust to Alena heading off to London. Thankfully its not too far away, so thats a consolation for sure. I'm sure she's going to have an amazing time and be successful.

I adore this dress – its so elegant in its simplicity. Just perfect and you're dressed it up so well.

I'd wear it with court heels for a more dressy office look or going out to dinner with some dramatic gold accessories. As always you've make it look awesome.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
    Hugs
    Wendy

Thank you so much for your kind words, dear Wendy! There are some cheap flights available and London is always a good place to visit anyway 🙂 Great start for her as London Fashion Week is in full swing…

I love your suggestions and especially now, when it's getting colder here, I think pumps and even boots will be perfect for the office, I could also throw on a cardigan or my suede leather blazer. I should do another post!

Have a great weekend too, Annette

    Looking gorgeous!
I have to tell you that the background of your photos took me right back to my childhood days spent in a rural town in Slovenia…it is like you are there!
Congrats to your daughter. What an exciting time for her! As a mama, I know it's hard but as your other readers have said…London is just a short plane ride {and amazing shopping destination!} away! xo

Thank you so much, Greetje, glad you like the dress and the belt. I still remember when I bought the belt!
I know, you could expect something totally different with that title 😉 But I had „stolen“ it from lovely Kat here .

Alena arrived safely and is having a blast at London Fashion Week! What a start…

Well done for your daughter, I am sure she's going to make a huge success! Your dress is so feminine, I love anything in lace, and the addition of the belt was a nice way of styling it!
Hope you get to visit SA soon so we could perhaps meet ! Grootbos is a uber chic resort close to where we live and they speak German!
Have a great day and thanks for your continued support on my blog!

Annette, perfect way to transition this cream dress. The layering of that wonderful leather belt is splendid, and what a beautiful leather belt. I belt you're so glad you kept this around for so long. I love being able to transition one season of wardrobes to another.
