Business look, office attire, dresscode, business Casual or formal… whatever you call it,  there are numerous opinions and interpretations what is appropriate for the office!

In the old days there was a clear definition what to wear to work and how you dress after work hours. Plus on Sundays you wore your best clothes which have been replaced by jogging trousers and a t-shirt for most of us…

„Business look“ doesn’t necessarily mean „office look“ although I do work in the outer office of our Dean of Academics and representational tasks are part of my job. However, as a blogger I also have meetings with brands and PR agencies and a professional look is equally essential but can be different and more creative in that case.

Business Look – a modern approach with leather leggings

Here is a trendy, modern variation of a business look in black leather leggings, an emroidered Chanel inspired blazer and classic accessories from Madeleine’s new collection. Several times I have partnered with Madeleine, a traditional German brand which is available in several European countries and looking forward to their 40 years anniversary next year.

LEATHER LEGGINGS – Leather leggings might not be suitable for every work environment but since I pay attention to a classic styling, it does work very well for me. I am convinced my soft black leather leggings will be my favourite piece not only this autumn/winter season and I will wear and show them in various stylings from casual to cool, formal and elegant on the blog!!!

When I opened the parcel I hoped they will fit – in fact they fit like a glove and not the slightest alteration needed. They are not cheap but you wouldn’t expect that from high quality, would you? It is a timeless piece and I know I will wear them numerous times over the years for sure and they will be a highlight of my wardrobe.

SLEEVELESS POLO NECK JUMPER – I used not to wear any polo neck jumpers (actually no jumpers at all) as I cannot stand that tight collar around my neck nor warm knits. The fabric of this super soft sleeveless jumper is a „skin-caressing, shape-retaining and softly flowing stretch viscose“ and an ideal layering piece and is available in 18 different colours.

CHANEL INSPIRED BLAZER – Blazers are an essential part of my office looks and this embroidered black and white jacket has got a touch of Chanel is classic and trendy at the same time.  Fully lined it is perfect for the transitional season and also a great match with jeans.

LEATHER BALLET FLATS – Usually I wear heels and when I wore these patent leather flats to the office last week, one of my colleagues wondered what was different with me ;-
Our office buildings are located on top of a hill and my building is the furthest up (I have the most beautiful mountain view!) which means departments and meating areas are spread out and flat shoes are more convenient when I have to go there.
Ordering shoes online can be tricky with my bunions but these have a slightly wider fit. I have worn them a couple of times now and they are really comfortable and stylish at the same time.

Dear Annette, this post might be sponsored but you wouldn’t say so by the look of it. This is so you. I am glad those leather leggings fit so well. I hope you get to keep them. They are awesome. I would order them as well, pricey or not, but if they fit you, they won’t fit me. It means they allow women to have hips. And I don’t. I think your ballet flats are adorable. I was looking for such shoes when I bought my pointy flats. And although mine are great they are more „rock and roll“, which I am only occasionally. Oh wel..
Lovely outfit all together. And I really like the way your hair is in these pictures.

    Liebe Annette,

    Andrea
