Emerald green and my love for jewellery

EMERALD GREEN

In love with bright jewel tones

Recently I have talked about my love for green and its various shades in this post here. Emerald green has been the Pantone colour 2013 and jewel tones are especially popular in the autumn season. My satin top from Zara can be worn in an elegant version (as seen here) or more relaxed like today with navy blue trousers and suede heels.

I think there is something mystical about this emerald or jade green. A while ago I discovered the beautiful jewellery by Julie Vos - often seen on one of my favourite bloggers with love from Kat. Her opulent creations are amazing and would be an excellent match so I already put a bracelet on my wishlist... Also stella & dot offer some lovely (and budget-friendy!) pieces

Further on the blog and Instagram this week: With the predicted drop of temperatures and rainy weather there will be an autumn look in collaboration with Damart UK on Thursday - which will be very suitable for my trip to Hamburg that day. More to follow soon!

Suede Leather and Metallic Flats

SUEDE LEATHER AND METALLIC FLAT SHOES

Getting ready for the autumn season

... or maybe not yet! I am still enjoying our beautiful late summer weather and the forecast talks about temperatures above 30C (90F) this weekend. The so-called transitional period with cooler nights means I have to wear a jacket when I go to work in the mornings but sleeveless tops are still an option during the day.

My look is a bit more casual and I especially love my new metallic flat shoes which I recently got from Zara. The colour is a mix between silver and gold and makes them so versatile. And they are really comfortable - I have wider feet and too narrow, pointed or wide open shoes can cause pain to the ball of my right foot. I am sure many of you know that problem and with age I do pay a lot more attention to comfort!!

King Ludwig's Linderhof Palace: Little Black Dress

LINDERHOF PALACE IN A BLACK DRESS

In honour of King Ludwig II of Bavaria's 170th Birthday

There has always been a close relationship between the famous "fairytale" King Ludwig II of Bavaria and my hometown. Several of his magnificent residences are located in the near vicinity including Linderhof Palace and Neuschwanstein Castle (which inspired the Disney Castle). Since the later 19th century when the King visited the Oberammergau Passion Play, the locals celebrate his birthday with bonfires, fireworks and music from top of the surrounding mountains. Ever since this tradition of King Ludwig's Fire takes place on 24th August, the night before his birthday. Although it attracts more and more people from the area, it was never meant to be a tourist attraction but a custom by and for the local inhabitants.

White trousers and a green blouse for late summer

WHITE LINEN AND DARK GREEN FOR LATE SUMMER

Going green

White and linen represent summer, sunshine and hot temperatures. Our summer (which has been amazing this year!) is making a pause right now and I have used the cooler temperatures to style my favourite wide leg linen trousers with my new dark green blouse with graphic floral prints and a matching metallic tote bag by Bimba y Lola. I am a huge fan of green but since it is not a trend colour at moment, I find the selection of green clothes in general very limited. Emerald Green has been the only green hue in Pantone's colour of the year choice since 2000!

Ear hoops #iwillwearwhatilike Instagram initiative

SUMMER EVENING IN A CORAL DRESS

Old but still one of my favourites...

I am sure you have clothes in your wardrobe which you wear year after year... this coral dress from Mango is such a piece - I just can't sort it out and so it makes an appearance again today. I often wear it to the office and also like to pair it with a blazer. But since we have had the most amazing summer with very high temperatures, sleeveless dresses and tops have been my daily work attire over the last weeks. This is commonly accepted here in Germany although I wouldn't wear spaghetti straps to the office! Find out more about my work outfits here and here.
