CLASSIC BLACK DRESS GOES FLORAL
Restyling Part 1

Since Christmas all the snow has gone and if I had a choice (unfortunately not) I certainly wouldn't want it back but rather skip the next two winter months and directly go into spring.

Maybe my floral prints are a small hint already? I gave my classic black dress a floral make-over which also serves the purpose of covering pale arms at this time of the year. A LBD is an essential part of my wardrobe and can be worn for so many occasions. Usually I stay classy and elegant but sometimes I want to give it a little twist.
Here are some ideas:

• Choose a blouse in a bright colour, floral or graphic prints under your dress
• Alternatively go for a 3/4 or long sleeved top or turtleneck sweater
• Accessorize it with a colourful, wide belt
• Try coloured tights or with patterns like polka dots
• Wear a jacket with prints, a leatherjacket or a colourful cardigan with your dress
• Add a scarf or a statement necklace
• I prefer pumps or kneehigh boots but you may want to try ankle booties?

SCHWARZES ETUIKLEID & BLUMENPRINTS
Restyling Teil 1

Seit Weihnachten haben wir keinen Schnee mehr und wenn Ihr mich fragt (macht leider keiner), ich brauche ihn auch nicht mehr und würde die nächsten zwei Wintermonate am liebsten überspringen und gleich mit Frühling weitermachen!

Dazu passen die Blumendrucke meiner Bluse, die ich heute unter meinem klassischen schwarzen Kleid trage. Es ist nicht nur wärmer, sondern bedeckt auch meine blassen Arme um diese Jahreszeit. Ich liebe ja schwarze Kleider und trage sie sehr oft zu einem formellen Anlass oder zum Weggehen, aber manchmal mag ich sie auch ein bisschen anders als gewohnt, hier sind einige Ideen:

• Eine Bluse in einer kräftigen Farbe, Blumen- oder Grafikmuster drunter
• Alternativ ein 3/4 oder langärmliges T-Shirt oder ein Rollkragenpulli
• Ein auffälliger, breiter Gürtel
• Farbige Strumpfhosen oder gemusterte, z.B. mit Tupfen
• Eine gemusterte Jacke, eine Lederjacke oder ein knalliger Cardigan
• Ein peppiger Schal oder eine große Statement Kette
• Ich trage am liebsten Pumps oder kniehohe Stiefel, aber wie wäre es mit Booties?

If I had to name the most worn piece in my wardrobe these days, it is probably the black layering top by adea which I showed you here. Das Kleidungsstück, das ich in letzter Zeit vermutlich am häufigsten getragen habe, ist wohl mein schwarzes Top von adea, das ich hier vorgestellt habe. Diese seidigen Shirts mit perfekter Passform von adea sind extrem angenehm zu tragen und vielseitig zu kombinieren, sie passen einfach zu allen Röcken und Hosen. Ich mag z.B. im Büro keine klassischen Blusen unter Blazern, liebe aber Tops und bin damit immer ideal angezogen, sei es für Meetings oder Besucher. Hier hatte ich mein blaues Top mit V-Ausschnitt getragen und heute zeige ich Euch mein neuestes Shirt in einem dunklen Rot. Ich war sofort von dieser Farbe begeistert, die perfekt zu Schwarz und Dunkelblau passt, aber auch wunderschön mit neutralen Tönen aussieht. Ich habe meine olivegrüne Lederhose und eine kurze Jacke dazu kombiniert.

1st Blog Anniversary

1 year ago I started blogging and wasn't sure anybody would show any interest in outfits on a budget published by a 50yrs old woman! Now, 100 blogposts later, I find myself in a fantastic community of blogging ladies of my age and my worries actually turned out to my advantage. There is definitely a place for mature fashionistas in the bloggosphere! And why not?

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback to my posts, your encouraging emails and your friendship! Without a doubt, meeting like-minded fabulous women all over the world is the most rewarding part of blogging. And some of you I even had a chance to meet in real! I would like to thank all my readers, the regular commentators as well as those who prefer to look and read only.

My heartfelt thanks go to Alena and Jasmin for the time and patience during our photoshoots and Mr C and my friend Véronique who step in whenever they can and encourage and support me - I couldn't do this blog without you!

This year I will continue my outfit posts and have already prepared one of the popular restyling sets. In addition I have some new ideas for the blog. Very soon I will present the new "Lady of the Month" series where I will interview and feature a favourite blogger who keeps inspiring me with her style and attitude.

1.Blog Geburtstag

Vor 1 Jahr habe ich diesen Blog gestartet und ehrlich gesagt, wußte ich zunächst nicht, ob überhaupt jemand hier vorbeischauen würde! Ich war unsicher, meine Fotos zu veröffentlichen und dachte "Wer interessiert sich schon für Outfits einer 50-jährigen, die nicht mal teure Designerklamotten hat?" Jetzt, 100 Blogposts später, freue ich mich unglaublich, Teil dieses fantastischen, weltweiten Netzwerks von 40+ Bloggerinnen zu sein! Und es wurde höchste Zeit, dass wir auch hier in der Bloggerszene aktiv wurden und sichtbar sind!
Ich danke Euch herzlich für Eure lieben Kommentare, Eure persönlichen emails und Eure Freundschaft - virtuell oder sogar persönlich vor Ort. Ich hoffe und freue mich jetzt schon darauf, dieses Jahr noch mehr von Euch persönlich kennenzulernen! Wie ich immer wieder betone, sind die Kontakte, die ich durch den Blog weltweit mit gleichgesinnten Frauen knüpfen konnte, das beste am Bloggen. Vielen Dank an diejenigen, die hier regelmäßig kommentieren, aber auch an die stillen Leserinnen!

Mein innigster Dank geht an Alena und Jasmin für ihre Zeit und Geduld bei den Photoshootings, sowie Mr C und meine Freundin Véronique, die einspringen, wann immer sie können und mich so sehr unterstützen! Ohne Euch ginge gar nichts!

Im kommenden jahr werde ich meine Outfit posts fortsetzen, außerdem habe ich bereits eine der beliebten Restylingserien vorbereitet. FUR & LEATHER

I can't deny I am in love with fur this winter! I showed you how I styled my daughter's fur coat with a floral dress here, my fur hat here and now - finally - I got my very own fake fur coat! I wasn't actually looking for one but knowing that my daughter will go back to university early January there will be no more chance for borrowing hers. It was a no-brainer when I saw this one on sale for less than 30€! A very classic almost ladylike style but I gave it a twist with my black faux leather trousers.

Just recently I won a fabulous necklace from lovely Ani of Fleurani which I showed you in my Christmas post. Can you believe how lucky I am? Besides my snakeprint clutch I am proudly wearing my new golden Swarovski bracelet, another recent giveaway by my dear blogger friend Katja of collected by Katja, based in Vienna, Austria. I couldn't believe I had been the lucky winner on two blogs! I follow Katja's amazing blog for quite a while. She is not only a beautiful woman with an amazing sense of style but also very kind and supportive. Thank you so much, dear Katja!

PELZ & LEDER

Ich glaube, Ihr habt schon mitbekommen, dass ich zur Zeit total auf Pelz stehe! Erst die von meiner Tochter ausgeliehene Pelzjacke, die ich hier wintertauglich mit einem Kleid getragen habe, danach meine Pelzkappe und nun habe ich - endlich - meine eigene Jacke! Ich hatte gar nicht explizit danach gesucht, auch wenn ich wußte, dass meine Tochter sie nach den Semesterferien wieder mit nach London nehmen würde, aber für weniger als 30€ im Sale konnte ich nicht "nein" sagen, oder?

Erst kürzlich habe ich eine wunderschöne Statement Kette bei Ani von Fleurani gewonnen, die ich Euch auf meinem Weihnachts Post vorgestellt habe. Ich bin wirklich ein doppelter Glückspilz, denn neben meiner Clutch mit Schlangenprints trage ich heute mein goldenes Swarovski Armband, das ich bei einem Giveaway meiner Bloggerfreundin Katja von collected by Katja aus Wien gewonnen habe! Ich konnte es gar nicht glauben, als mich ihre mail erreichte! Ich folge Katja's Blog schon seit längerer Zeit und bin von ihrem Stil einfach begeistert! Aber nicht nur ihre perfekt zusammengestellten Looks zeichnen ihren Blog aus, sondern Katja selbst ist eine wunderschöne Frau, unheimlich offen und hilfsbereit. Herzlichen Dank, liebe Katja!

Sparkle, sparkle...

Christmas is almost here, I finally bought my tree and was looking for some fresh flowers, festive decoration and candles in my favourite flowershop in town. Here in Germany we celebrate on Christmas Eve and only then we put up, decorate and light our trees.

For pre-Christmas drinks with friends I wore Burgundy and Black and added some sparkle to my outfit. There could not have been a better time for this gorgeous necklace which I won on a recent giveaway by the lovely Ani of Fleurani. It goes perfectly well with all shades of Burgundy and Plum which I love this season! I am already thinking of new styling ideas like dressing up jeans and a white blouse. Thank you so much, dear Ani!

Glitzer, glitzer...

Weihnachten steht vor der Tür und ich habe es doch tatsächlich geschafft, endlich meinen Christbaum zu besorgen. Mangels Auswahl (tja, am 21. Dezember...) wurde aus dem kleinen schmalen Wunschbaum letztlich ein kleiner dicker ;-) Dann noch schnell in meinem Lieblingsblumenladen im Ort ein paar Kerzen, glitzernde Deko und frische Blumen besorgt und Weihnachten kann kommen!

Mein Outfit in Schwarz und Bordeaux trug ich zu Drinks bei Freunden und ein bisschen Glitzer darf um diese Zeit ja nicht fehlen. Da flatterte mir doch vor ein paar Tagen eine liebe email ins Postfach, in der stand "Du hast gewonnen!" und zwar diese wunderschöne Statement Kette von Ani von Fleurani. Und sie passt perfekt dazu, oder? Ich habe mich riesig gefreut, liebe Ani, herzlichen Dank!
